BatesCarey LLP is delighted to announce that Jonathan “Jon” A. Cipriani and Michael “Mickey” H. Passman have been elected to partnership, effective January 1, 2018. Both focus their practice in insurance coverage analysis and litigation. 

Jon serves as coverage and litigation counsel to foreign and domestic insurers in matters involving professional liability coverage, including D&O and E&O coverage disputes arising from derivative actions, securities fraud class actions, and mortgage fraud related claims. He represents insurers and reinsurers in disputes in state and federal courts across the country and in domestic and international arbitrations. Jon also has experience in marine insurance and maritime issues. 

Mickey’s practice includes pre-litigation insurance coverage analysis and the litigation of complex insurance coverage disputes in state and federal courts throughout the country. He also handles a wide variety of commercial general liability coverage and professional liability coverage matters, including claims involving construction liability, products liability, personal injury liability, public officials’ liability, law enforcement liability, attorney liability, and insurance broker liability. 

This news comes on the heels of appellate counsel Agelo L. Reppas joining the firm as partner in November 2017 to bolster the firm’s trial monitoring and complex appellate practices. Her strong track record includes successful appeals in matters relating to construction; employment; fidelity, surety and crime; insurance coverage; premises liability; professional services liability; and transportation litigation.
