BatesCarey Deepens Insurance Coverage Strength with Joshua Boggioni and Colleen Sorensen

BatesCarey announced today that Joshua Boggioni and Colleen Sorensen have joined the firm as partners.

BatesCarey has solidified its position as one of the nation’s deepest insurance coverage teams, welcoming seven associates and special counsel, as well as two partners, in the final quarter of 2022. The firm boasts nearly 70 attorneys dedicated solely to insurance matters and international insurance clients.

“Josh and Colleen are longtime friends of the firm and have stellar national reputations for their prowess in insurance coverage litigation,” said BatesCarey founder Robert J. Bates, Jr. “Adding them to our roster caps a tremendous year with significant growth, important victories for our clients and a post-pandemic deepening of relationships with our colleagues.”

“Our coverage team has been carefully built on camaraderie and collaboration, and we could not be more thrilled to add two such exceptional litigators who fit our mold,” said Adam Fleischer of BatesCarey’s management committee.  “Josh and Colleen are outstanding lawyers, and also outstanding mentors to help train, develop and grow our bench of talented younger litigators.”

Joshua Boggioni represents domestic and foreign insurers in connection with complex coverage litigation, claims analysis and claims resolution. He has represented insurers at the pre-trial, trial and appellate stages in a broad range of coverage matters before state and federal courts, including disputes arising out of environmental contamination, products liability, toxic and mass tort liability, as well as handling bad faith claims. He has also advised underwriting professionals in connection with the drafting of manuscript policy forms.
