Sarah-Joël Victor is a member of the firm’s Professional Liability Group concentrating her practice on protecting the interests of primary and excess insurers in D&O, E&O, and employment practices liability claims, and related coverage litigation.
Prior to joining BatesCarey, Sarah advised clients at a global professional services firm on cybersecurity and privacy compliance across state, federal, and international regulatory frameworks. Additionally, she served as a general attorney for one of the nation’s Class 1 freight railroads, handling all stages of litigation as trial counsel before administrative, state, and federal courts. Sarah was also an associate attorney at a full-service business law firm where she defended insurance policyholders facing negligence and premises liability issues and managed cases from intake through resolution, including drafting pleadings, motions, briefs, and discovery, preparing for hearings and depositions.
Sarah earned her J.D. from the University of Illinois Chicago School of Law in 2017, graduating cum laude. During law school, she served as staff editor on the UIC Law Review, served on the Moot Court Honors Council, and received CALI Awards in Torts, Property, and Evidence. Sarah also served as a judicial extern to The Honorable Sanjay T. Tailor in the Cook County Law Division.
