BatesCarey LLP Presents at 22nd Annual Railroad Liability Seminar in Oklahoma City

7.2.2015

A number of our BatesCarey LLP attorneys participated in and presented at the 22nd Annual Railroad Liability Seminar in Oklahoma City, OK, held last month from June 23 to June 25, 2015.  The Railroad Liability Seminar is nationally recognized as a resource for shortline and regional railroads that confront liability, insurance, contractual indemnity, and other issues unique to the railroad industry.  This year’s seminar was hosted by Watco Companies, a parent organization of many entities in this industry segment.  Three BatesCarey LLP attorneys joined panel on diverse topics of interest to railroads and their insurers:

  • Scott Carey moderated the Insurance Update panel, traditionally the inaugural presentation of the Seminar;
  • Matthew Murphy chaired the Mitigating Damage panel regarding post-incident response options available to railroads, their counsel and other advisors; and
  • Joseph Pozen presented Closing a Claim, with emphasis on third-party practice, contractual indemnity considerations and additional insured issues.

David Alt and Ellen Zabinski also attended the Seminar as long-term practitioners in this specialized segment of the commercial casualty insurance industry.
