Sitting at the intersection of insurance coverage and environmental law, Arthur F. Brandt concentrates his practice on complex litigation, including environmental and toxic tort coverage disputes. His work has addressed coverage questions arising from long-term contamination at former manufactured gas plant sites, Comprehensive Environmental Response and Liability Act (CERCLA) multi-site environmental claims, chemical release and pipeline rupture incidents, bodily injury claims tied to herbicide and asbestos exposure, underground storage tank regulation, air quality and emission control issues, groundwater contamination, solid waste issues, and product recall matters, including disputes over the application of pollution exclusions, pro-rata allocation of long-tail environmental losses, and the scope of advertising injury coverage. Arthur has litigated these matters across multiple jurisdictions and before various state and federal regulatory agencies.

Arthur’s litigation experience spans the Michigan, Delaware, and Louisiana Supreme Courts and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, as well as touching the English, Canadian, French, and European Union legal systems. Beyond litigation, he has conducted seminars and authored various articles on environmental insurance coverage issues.

He has been selected to the prestigious "Leading Lawyers" list published by the Law Bulletin Publishing Company.
