Ranjini Rajan represents insurers in coverage disputes and litigation. Prior to joining BatesCarey, Ranjini represented commercial airlines and aircraft component part manufacturers in products liability litigation. Ranjini was also a technical claim manager at a specialty insurer where she managed architects and engineers claims, as well as miscellaneous professional liability claims.
During law school, Ranjini served as a judicial extern to The Honorable Sophia H. Hall in the Cook County Chancery Division, as well as to The Honorable Sanjay T. Tailor in the Cook County Law Division. Ranjini was awarded the prestigious Philip H. Corboy Fellowship in Trial Advocacy and competed in national trial competitions, resulting in various awards for trial preparation and presentation. After graduating law school, Ranjini served as an adjunct professor in trial advocacy for the Corboy Fellowship mock trial team.
Ranjini presently serves on the Board of Directors for the South Asian Bar Association of Chicago. She is also a legal advisor to the Chicago Tyagaraja Utsavam, a non-profit organization that promotes South Indian classical music in the United States. Ranjini was named an Illinois Rising Star by Super Lawyers in their 2024 publication for her excellence in the legal profession.
