Joshua A. Boggioni and Colleen P. Sorensen Honored in Crain’s 2026 Notable Leaders in Accounting, Consulting & Law
BatesCarey is pleased to announce that partners Joshua Boggioni and Colleen Sorensen have been honored in Crain’s Chicago Business’ 2026 Notable Leaders in Accounting, Consulting & Law.
The Crain’s Chicago Notable Leaders List is a prestigious honor that recognizes outstanding leaders in the legal profession across the Chicago area. The honor celebrates individuals who have driven change within their organizations and the broader community, served as role models and mentors, and promoted inclusivity in the workplace. Josh and Colleen’s recognition reflects the depth of their coverage practices and their standing among peers in the legal community.
Josh handles complex coverage litigation for domestic and foreign insurers, with a focus on pollution and environmental contamination, products liability, and toxic and mass tort liability. His work includes disputes involving remediation costs at contaminated industrial sites, the interpretation of pollution liability policies, duty-to-defend challenges arising from recalled medical products, umbrella policy exhaustion, and multi-jurisdiction opioid litigation. He has also defended insurers in complex bad faith arbitrations, represented insurers at the pretrial, trial, and appellate levels in state and federal courts, and advised underwriting professionals on the drafting of manuscript policy forms. Josh is a longtime volunteer with the Chicago Bar Association's Edward J. Lewis II Lawyers in the Classroom program and is a member of the Board of Directors of CBA Media & Civic Education Inc., where he also served as board president.
Colleen represents insurers in complex coverage litigation at both the trial and appellate levels in federal and state courts, with particular depth in commercial general liability, professional liability, life science products liability, and environmental coverage. Her work includes coverage for thousands of prescription opioid lawsuits, hip implant and IVC filter claims, NDMA contamination, asbestos and environmental exposures, and disputes under Bermuda form policies. Admitted to the Sixth, Seventh and Eleventh Circuits, Colleen has briefed and argued appeals across multiple jurisdictions.
